Expanding the Reach of International Cooperation, Madiun State Polytechnic Collaborates with Cheng Shiu University Taiwan

pnm.ac.id – Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) is fully committed to realizing its vision of global competitiveness. One of them is by expanding the reach of international cooperation through collaboration with Cheng Shiu University (CSU) Taiwan.

Director of Madiun State Polytechnic Dr. Muhammad Ta'ali, S.E, M.M. and Vice President Cheng Shiu University Dr. Shuenn-Ren Cheng signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (08/04) at Cheng Shiu University, Taiwan.

Dr. Muhammad Taali, S.E., M.M. said that this cooperation includes seven strategic points. "The collaboration is planned to cover seven strategic points, starting from academic exchanges to programsdouble degree (INTENSE Program).” he explained.

The following are seven points of cooperation between PNM and CSU. These include Academic Exchange where lecturers and staff can exchange for teaching or professional development; Student Mobility, namely student exchange, internship and study abroad programs; Joint Research (Joint Research) namely research collaboration in areas of mutual interest; Curriculum Development by sharing experiences and methods for curriculum improvement, Exchange of Scientific Resources such as publications, teaching materials and academic information; Joint Academic Activities include seminars, workshops, international conferences; as well as the Double Degree Program (INTENSE Program) where students can get degrees from both institutions through curriculum alignment.

Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) Supports International Talent

PNM Director Dr. Muhammad Taali, S.E, M.M. underlined the international program between Madiun State Polytechnic and Cheng Shiu University through the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program). He said that there are three programs that PNM students can take part in.

First, namelyDouble Degreewhich has two schemes. Scheme - 2 + 2 program, meaning students study for two years at PNM and two years in Taiwan and will receive two direct degrees, S.ST. from PNM and B.Eng from Taiwan. Next is the scheme - 3 + 1 program which means students take three years at PNM and one year in Taiwan and will get two degrees. For the record, the - 3 + 1 program scheme is specifically intended for students from the Railway and Automotive Engineering Technology Study Program.

The second program is the Bachelor Program where all alumni of the PNM Diploma Three (D3) study program can continue to Taiwan. And finally, there is the Master's Program where all PNM Applied Bachelor (D4) alumni can immediately continue their Masters in Taiwan.

Dr. Muhammad Ta'ali, S.E, M.M. stated that Madiun State Polytechnic plans to send many students to Cheng Shiu University (CSU) Taiwan every year. Not only that, the INTENSE Program is also free.

"All costs are free because we received a scholarship from the Taiwan Government," he explained.

The PNM Director further said that this opportunity is wide open for PNM students with several conditions, namely passing the interview in English and there is a plus point if you can speak Mandarin. Through this collaboration Dr. Muhammad Taali, S.E., M.M. hopes that PNM can create international talent as a commitment to realizing its vision of global competitiveness.

For information, in 2025 two PNM alumni, namely Anfical Lower Silalahi and Imelda Aprilia Permata from the English Study Program, managed to pass the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program) even before graduating. Both of them graduated from Cheng Shiu University, Taiwan. This achievement is proof of the neat collaboration between Madiun State Polytechnic and Cheng Shiu University, Taiwan.

Not only that, as a form of seriousness and concrete steps for collaboration, Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) will also send a delegation to the 2026 FALL - INTENSE Education Fair on Thursday (23/04) at Muladi Dome, Diponegoro University, Semarang.

Madiun State Polytechnic also opens the widest possible opportunities for final semester students and alumni who are interested in continuing their studies at Cheng Shiu University Taiwan.
